The DSA Assessment Office strives to provide needed support and resources for DSA staff to engage in assessment best practices that use evidence to demonstrate impact, student learning and development, and improve organizational effectiveness. The office fulfills its mission by leading, educating, facilitating, and collaborating in institutional, divisional, and unit-level assessment practices.

Vision

The DSA Assessment Office promotes a culture of evidence that fosters evidence-based decision-making and leads to continuous improvement. The office will serve as a central hub for disseminating assessment information and empowering the DSA community to practice intentional assessment activities that maximize student learning and support student success.

Goals

• GOAL 1: Support intentional and effective assessment practices that foster data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement for DSA professionals, units, and other programming teams;

• GOAL 2: Lead divisional or institutional project(s) to assess DSA's progress towards achieving strategic goals, and understanding student needs, learning, and development as depicted by DSA Shared Outcomes;

• GOAL 3: Disseminate assessment findings to students, professionals, the campus community, and the professional field;

• GOAL 4: Facilitate efficient and proper access to or sharing of institutional and DSA data through good partnerships with campus partners and VCU data community;
